We recommend the Solo Pro SDI/HDMI version. The HDMI-only model is mainly suited to fixed installs where the cable stays plugged in permanently. SDI is significantly more reliable in real-world production environments — especially when cables are frequently connected/disconnected or when you’re working with professional broadcast cameras and switchers. The SDI/HDMI model gives you both inputs so you’re covered for any source.

LRT is purchased and activated directly through the LiveU Solo web portal at solo.liveu.tv. Simply register your unit, go to the LRT section on the dashboard, and subscribe (monthly or yearly). If you’ve purchased an LRT licence key from us, you can redeem it there as well.

LRT (LiveU Reliable Transport) is LiveU’s proprietary bonding and transport technology. It combines multiple network connections (cellular modems, Wi-Fi and Ethernet) into one highly resilient stream, automatically adapting to changing conditions. Without LRT you only get a single-connection stream; with LRT you get the rock-solid reliability that LiveU is known for.

They turn any camera or production system into a professional live contribution unit. You get up to 4K HEVC/H.264 encoding, one-touch streaming to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and any RTMP destination, plus the ability to bond multiple networks for reliable transmission from virtually anywhere — all in a compact, portable form factor.

The Solo Pro can bond up to four connections: two external 4G/5G USB modems + Wi-Fi + Ethernet.

This multi-network approach is what makes LiveU streams so resilient in challenging RF environments such as stadiums, remote locations or crowded events.

It’s purpose-built for reliability under pressure. HEVC encoding keeps bitrates efficient, LRT bonding keeps the stream alive when individual networks drop, and the SDI/HDMI model integrates cleanly with professional broadcast workflows. Combined with 5stream’s support and expertise as an authorised reseller, you get a complete, production-ready solution rather than just another encoder.
